When Cat and Greg first reached out to me about their Yosemite wedding, I knew it was going to be insanely beautiful! They had come to Yosemite on a trip prior and decided that a wedding in Yosemite would be the perfect place to say I do. They checked out a few different Yosemite wedding venues and ultimately decided they loved Evergreen Lodge. Evergreen Lodge is located out the North entrance of Yosemite at the end of a little quiet , remote road.
I met up with Cat at the John Muir house at Evergreen lodge and I can’t think of a better place to get ready for your wedding. The John Muir house is a large cabin with big windows that look out on rows and rows of trees. Cat got ready with some of her family and her daughter. After shooting with her I walked down the road to another little cute cabin house where Greg and his groomsmen where getting ready. Greg’s best man helped get his jacket on and then they played pool until it was time for the ceremony.
The ceremony took place at the Wapama Grove at Evergreen lodge. They had a little intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends who all traveled in from out of state to witness their commitment to each other. How special is that?!
After the ceremony we got to go and get photos of the two of them within the woods that surrounds evergreen lodge. The way the light came through the trees behind them was just magical and I was so excited the entire time. The fall colors were really showing off for them and it couldn’t have been anymore stunning!
We them headed to the reception where Cat and Greg made their grand entrance through the prettiest orange and yellow colored trees. The reception was one of the best outdoor receptions that I’ve gotten to photograph. The reception was held outside and had the cutest details such as wooden place settings with guests names carved into them, twinkly lights, and blankets hung on each chair so guests would stay warm during the chilly November night. They listen to toasts and speeches made by the people closest to them and then everyone(and I mean everyone!) Hit the dance floor to celebrate and keep warm haha!
The fun didn’t stop on their wedding! I was thrilled when Cat and Greg expressed interest in a next day session in Yosemite national park. We got to explore some of the pretty meadows around El Capitan before heading up to Taft Point. We all chatted about the wedding and their future plans on our hike out to Taft point. We got out to the point right as golden hour started to sink in. We shot around for about an hour before ending just enjoying the last of the amazing Yosemite sunset. These are the moments I’ll never forget and my couples don’t either.
The love that surrounded these two at their wedding was truly unreal and It was such a pleasure photographing their Yosemite wedding. I’ll never forget their day and enjoying a adventurous next day session in Yosemite chatting about life. So excited for these two to make the move to the bay area so they can enjoy Yosemite often woo!
