Winter Yosemite engagement session in the valley

It’s no secret that I love a beautiful Yosemite engagement session so when Kyle and Alex emailed me about their Yosemite engagement session I was so excited! These two flew all the way from Ohio to shoot their Yosemite engagements with me back in November. We had originally planned to shoot their engagements up at Glacier point but the road closed for the winter a few days before they flew out. I came up with a plan B for their session in the valley and even though it wasn’t our original plan, It quickly turned into one of my favorite Yosemite engagement sessions. I had gotten so used to shooting in the popular spots that I forgot how magical Yosemite valley can be at sunset. The fall colors mixed with the snow made for the prettiest back drop for their Yosemite engagement photos.

Cannot sing Maya’s praises loud enough! We hired Maya for our engagement shoot because she is literally the queen of Yosemite– she fully scoped out the area, had a detailed itinerary to ensure we hit the best spots at the best time for lighting/traffic, and provided excellent guidance on our posing (which we really needed!).
