There’s something extra special about photographing people through different seasons of their lives, and Carmen and Eric are a couple I’ve had the honor of doing just that with. I first photographed their engagement session, followed by their beautiful wedding in Hawaii, so when Carmen reached out about documenting their next chapter together, I already knew this maternity session was going to mean a lot to me.
Carmen had a vision for a western-inspired maternity session with a horse, and I was immediately all in. I love when my couples come to me with an idea that feels personal to them, and this one felt especially fitting for the two of them.
We found a company that rents horses for photography sessions in the Los Angeles area and started planning all of the details to bring her vision to life. From the western styling to the open landscape and beautiful horse, everything came together in such a natural and beautiful way.
There were plenty of beautiful portraits, but some of my favorite photographs were the quieter moments in between. The way Carmen interacted with the horse, the way Eric looked at her, and those little moments of connection that can’t really be posed.
From their engagement session to their wedding in Hawaii and now their maternity photos, I feel incredibly lucky to have been trusted to document so many chapters of Carmen and Eric’s story.
I can’t wait to see where their story takes them next!
