This is by no means a rule book to what you can and can’t wear. This guide is to help you if you are lost on what to wear for your session. This is to help rule out the outfits that you’ll spend too much time readjusting throught the session. To get the best possible photos for you, I have put together a little page of info to help you choose the right outfit. My goal is for you to be confident, comfortable and most importantly, yourself. Feel free to send me your outfit if you are still hesitant. I’m more then happy to help!
Casual
If you’re like me and you like to wear jeans and a simple sweater all the time, then casual is the way to go for your session. Sticking to your personal style and comfort level shows in the photos. Going the casual route isn’t going to make your engagements any less special. If you are thinking of going with jeans and a sweater, keep the colors to neutral and muted tones. That will keep the attention on you in the photo. Avoid loud prints and logos as they are a huge distraction.
Semi Formal
If you are one to wear a dress any chance you get, go this route for your session. Dresses are always so fun to play around with. I don’t recommend short dresses that you will have to constantly pull down. Go with a longer flowy dress that allows for movement. Avoid any loud prints such as dark floral prints, polka dots and stripes. Instead go with a white, muted blue or simple print.
Shoes
Many couples ask about what shoes they think they should wear. It depends on the location and how we are getting to the location. If we are shooting at the beach, I would ditch shoes completely. If we are going into an open field I would opt for some cute booties or even some simple converse. I don’t recommend heels unless you want them for height in some shots. 9/10 times girls wear heels, they take them off within the first few shots.
Accessories
Accessories are awesome! Bring your cute hat you always wear. Wear your cute moto jacket over your dress. Accessories make for variety in images and are a fun way to play off something.
