I first connected with Chase the week before he and Gwen came to California. He had a very special plan in mind. He was going to propose to Gwen during their trip, and the following day, we would meet in Malibu for their engagement photos. It was such a fun secret to be a part of, knowing that their Malibu engagement session would be the first photographs they had together as an engaged couple.

I met up with Gwen and Chase along the Malibu coast for their Malibu beach engagement session, and it was such a sweet way to document this new chapter for them. There was something really special about knowing they had just gotten engaged and were able to slow down and enjoy the excitement of it all together.

For their Malibu engagement photography, I wanted the photos to feel natural and true to them rather than overly posed. I gave them gentle direction when needed, but most of the session was spent walking, talking, laughing, and simply being together. Those in-between moments ended up being some of my favorite photographs because they captured their connection in such an effortless way.

Malibu was the perfect setting for their engagement session. Between the ocean, sandy shoreline, and soft coastal light, the scenery gave us plenty of variety while still keeping the focus on the two of them.
