Destination wedding on Catalina Island

Hayley and Evan booked me for their destination wedding on Catalina Island a year in advance and I had been looking forward to their special day ever since. Their September wedding date was coming up and I headed to Catalina Island a couple of days early to make sure we didn’t have any travel delays and to also photograph their welcome party the night before. These two had friends and family come from all over the country to celebrate with them on Catalina Island. On the wedding day we started off the day with some getting ready photos at the prettiest house on the island. Their house rental looked over the whole island and cove. Hayley got ready with all her favorite ladies, including her super cute fur baby, Sandy. She then had the most heartfelt first look with all her girls on the rooftop overlooking the ocean. We then headed over to the Catalina Casino for her first look with Evan. Hayley wanted their first look to be more in the moment /spontaneous so I didn’t set the moment up. They just ran up to each other and embraced each other so passionately. I think it’s the most special first look I’ve ever witnessed. They shared some personal vows and then we got some pretty portraits before heading to their ceremony site. Their coastal wedding ceremony took place on the lawn of the Descanso Beach Club as the sun set behind the hills of the island. It was such a stunning ceremony filled with laughter and tears of joy. Hayley and Evan ended their destination Catalina Island wedding with a gorgeous reception followed by a light up dance floor. Trying to pick a couple of favorite images from their Catalina Island wedding was so hard because the whole weekend was just so perfect and fun to photograph.
