Maggie and Ryan’s wedding at the Kimpton Canary Hotel felt simple in the best way. Intentional, relaxed, and centered on being present with the people around them.
Set in downtown Santa Barbara, the Kimpton Canary Hotel brings together warm light, Spanish style architecture, and a rooftop space that feels both open and intimate. It is the kind of place that allows a wedding day to unfold naturally.
They chose to hold their ceremony on the rooftop at the Kimpton Canary Hotel, surrounded by views of Santa Barbara and the mountains. Their vows were personal and made their ceremony even more special.
After the ceremony, we stepped out into downtown Santa Barbara for portraits. The light, the textures, and the slower pace of the streets made their couples portraits feel effortless. Nothing overly directed. Just small prompts, movement, and space for them to be themselves together
As the sun set, everyone gathered back on the rooftop for dinner. The golden light illuminated their reception space as everyone enjoyed conversations and a surprise Lion dance. I love getting to photograph special moments like this. Maggie and Ryan ended their beautiful wedding day dancing with all of their favorite people.
Maggie and Ryan’s Kimpton Canary Hotel wedding was photographed on digital and film so all the moments were captured in a way that felt true to how the day actually unfolded. Honest, textured, and timeless.
