Thinking of eloping in Yosemite or doing a Yosemite bridal session?! I’ve got the inside scoop to make sure you have the perfect elopement in Yosemite!
How much Yosemite elopement coverage do I need?
One of the most asked questions I get from couples wanting to elope in Yosemite is How much coverage is too much and too little? My answer is in two parts. First I have my couples ask themselves what locations they love the MOST. If they’ve never been to Yosemite I’ll send them a list on some of the best Yosemite elopement locations. I then ask them what they envision for their Yosemite elopement. With this info I can gather up locations they are obsessed with and what’s most important to them for their elopement day. 9 out of 10 couples who book me for their Yosemite elopement go with 4 hours of coverage because it gives them time to do their ceremony, photos and then still have time to enjoy the park on their elopement day. I would never up sell coverage to couples unless they wanted a full day elopement experience.
Yosemite elopement locations
I won’t share all my favorite secret Yosemite elopement locations because I keep those exclusively for the couples who book with me. I will share some of my favorite elopement locations that are pretty popular for couples looking to elope in Yosemite. My top locations to elope in Yosemite are
-Glacier point
-Taft Point
-Valley meadows
Having an officiant opposed to not
Having an officiant come out to your Yosemite elopement is entirely up to you! Many couples opt for getting legally married before the elopement day and then ready vows to each other. If you are wanting a more legit elopement ceremony then I would recommend having someone officiate it.
Taylor and Jim came all the way from Florida to elope in Yosemite …Like what?! I love that Yosemite can bring people from all over the country and even the world to get married. We met up at Glacier point while it was still dark. As we waited for the sun to come up we chatted and walked along the trail to the perfect spot. We started shooting just as the lighting was turning all kinds of beautiful colors. We watched the most amazing sunrise from the best seat in the whole park.
After the sun had come up pretty high we made our way to hike the Taft Point trail. These two made the whole hike so enjoyable by telling me all about their lives together and their upcoming Disneyland trip later that week. When we finally got to Taft point we were surprised to have the whole view point to ourselves for most of the time we spent shooting. I could’ve spent all day hiking, chatting and shooting with Taylor + Jim in Yosemite!
